Everton conceded five in defeat to Arsenal yesterday but the attacking numbers make for even worse reading.

Ronald Koeman, Manager of Everton speaks to Leighton Baines of Everton and Wayne Rooney of Everton during the Premier League match between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park on October...

It was another difficult day for Everton yesterday as they fell to a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal which increased the pressure on manager Ronald Koeman.

That pressure ended up costing the Dutchman his job, and the Gunners were in rampant mood as five different players – Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez – all found the net.

In comparison, only two Toffees men have notched in the Premier League all season – Wayne Rooney and Oumar Niasse.

Wayne Rooney of Everton scores his sides first goal during the Premier League match between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park on October 22, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

After nine games of last campaign, six different Everton players had found the net, but none of them have made a Premier League start this season.

Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry have left the club, while Ross Barkley, Yannick Bolasie and Seamus Coleman are sidelined with long-term injury.

Kevin Mirallas of Everton reacts after the Premier League match between Brighton and Hove Albion and Everton at Amex Stadium on October 15, 2017 in Brighton, England.

Of those half-dozen, only Kevin Mirallas is available to Koeman but the Belgian winger has made just three substitute appearances in the league this term.

Arsenal managed 14 shots on target at Goodison Park, which is only one fewer than Everton (15) have managed across their five home matches in the top flight.

It is little surprise, then, that when Koeman left his side they were in the relegation zone.
