A number of Premier League and foreign clubs are eyeing a move for Olympiakos defender Omar Elabdellaoui in January, HITC Sport understands.
Elabdellaoui is in the final year of his contract at Olympiakos and although he has been offered a new deal by the Greek champions he has yet to sign fresh terms.
The news has alerted Elabdellaoui’s suitors that they could sign the defender on a pre-contract in January ahead of joining them next summer on a free transfer.
The likes of Benfica, Spartak Moscow and Stuttgart are all monitoring Elabdellaoui’s situation at Olympiakos and are ready to battle several Premier League clubs for the full-back when the transfer window reopens.
Elabdellaoui, who captained Norway against Germany in their recent World Cup qualifier, qualifies as a homegrown player via his Manchester City links, making him an even more attractive proposition to his Premier League suitors.
Elabdellaoui is back at Olympiakos after spending the second half of last season on loan at Hull City and he captained the Greek side in their Champions League defeat to Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old made nine appearances for Hull during his loan stint at the club and he would have figured more only for injury with the club unable to keep him following their relegation from the Premier League.
Elabdellaoui started his professional career at City after joining from Norwegian club Skeid at 16 and despite impressing at City’s academy he never played for the club’s star-studded first-team before leaving for Eintracht Braunschweig in 2013.
