Inter Milan reportedly had scouts in attendance last night to watch Fulham defender and USA international Antonee Robinson, with the Serie A giants keen to sign a new left-back in the January window.

According to CalcioMercato, the Premier League talent is one of numerous players Inter will be scouting over the 2022 FIFA World Cup ahead of the winter market, with Robinson starting for the US last night in their 1-1 draw against Wales, with the defender one of four Fulham players to start the match.

Tim Ream started alongside Robinson in defence for the US as Harry Wilson and Dan James lined up for Rob Page’s Wales side in what was a historic match for both nations, though the points could only be shared as Gareth Bale rescued the Dragons with a late penalty.

With a reported wage of £33,000-a-week, Robinson is one of Fulham’s lowest-paid players and could establish himself in the coming weeks as a bargain signing for some clubs, namely Inter, though convincing Marco Silva to allow the 25-year-old to leave Craven Cottage would be quite a challenge.

The Milton Keynes-born defender has started 13 games for Fulham this season as the west London side have enjoyed an incredible campaign back in the Premier League as the newly-promoted Championship side finally look set to break their yo-yo curse and survive relegation.

However, Inter’s potential interest in Robinson could be a major problem. And whilst the defender didn’t set the world alight last night for the US, big performances against Iran and England in the upcoming week could convince the European giants to move for the American international in January.

Robinson has become a vital part of Fulham’s Premier League renaissance under Silva this season, and with the defender now playing a starring role for the USA in Qatar, interest is likely to mount for the defender, which is why the Cottagers must do all they can to stop the likes of Inter from signing the 25-year-old.

After all, Robinson continues to get better for both club and country. And for Fulham, they should be looking to keep the former Everton academy star on their books for as long as possible even if Inter come in during January with a massive offer for the defender.
