Liverpool should consider a move for the Frenchman this summer.
Reds boss Jürgen Klopp will be desperate to strengthen his options further still this summer, as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours on all fronts this season.
RB Leipzig midfield beast Naby Keita has been on the German’s radar all summer long, according to BBC Sport, but with the 22-year-old’s value believed to be in the region of £70 million, it it unclear at to whether Liverpool can, or will, stretch to that amount.
And with this in mind, the Merseyside outfit should perhaps consider a cheaper alternative to the Guinea international, and shift their focus to Inter Milan’s Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is an absolute powerhouse, with his tenacious, aggressive style of play seemingly perfectly suited to the robust nature of the Premier League.
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, the former Monaco man is powerfully built, and would bring a real physical presence to the heart of the Reds’ engine room. He is also capable of playing the box-to-box role to great effect, what with his high stamina levels.
Kondogbia still has three years remaining on his current deal at the San Siro, so Liverpool would still have to pay a fairly hefty sum to prise him away from the Italian giants, although he would be substantially cheaper than Keita.
And whilst finances are not tight at Anfield, bringing the Inter man to the club instead of the RB Leipzig star would help free up funds for Klopp to invest in other areas of his squad this summer.
And with such a busy schedule ahead for Liverpool on all fronts this term, that might just be the more sensible player recruitment strategy for the Merseyside outfit.
