Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing rumoured Aston Villa target Eden Hazard on the condition that the Real Madrid outcast accepts a pay cut.
According to journalist Marco Barzaghi, the Nerazzurri are keen on signing the recently-retired Belgian international in the January window, however, Inter are in no position to match Hazard’s current wages at Madrid, with the attacker one of Los Blancos’ highest-paid players.
Signed in 2019 for a reported £150m, Hazard has gone down in infamy in Madrid as one of the club’s worst signings ever, with the former Chelsea star struggling to stay fit and failing to hit even a percentage of the form the winger showcased in the Premier League with the Blues.
As a result, a January transfer feels certain for Hazard, and Villa are believed to be interested in signing the attacker as reported by Defensa Central, with Unai Emery keen to add a superstar forward to the Villa Park squad’s ranks in an attempt to recapture their form.

Indeed, after the signing of Philippe Coutinho last year, anything is possible with Villa in the transfer market, yet Hazard still feels like one bridge too far for the Birmingham-based side, especially with Inter now in the race for the attacker.
Whilst the Serie A giants’ one condition to sign Hazard is a strict one, it’s also one that both Madrid and the player will be willing to take given just how desperate the 31-year-old’s situation in Spain is. However, this transfer might not be all too bad for Villa.
Inter signing Hazard won’t be the end of the world for Villa

Villa signing Hazard would be something of a madness given just how incredible the deal sounds when saying it out loud, yet with Inter now in the race, Emery missing out on the winger would hardly be a crisis, with the Spanish manager no doubt having more options in mind than just the Madrid outcast.
Moreover, pivoting to another winger in the market who is younger and will likely come with a cheaper salary could be much better for Villa in the long-term, with some fans already disgruntled with the permanent signing of Coutinho this summer.
