West Ham United reportedly want to re-sign their former player.

According to a report from France Football, Serie A giants Inter Milan have joined West Ham in the race to sign enigmatic attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet.
The Marseille man has been offered back to the Hammers, according to a report from the Guardian, but it remains to be seen whether the mercurial Frenchman will be seen wearing the famous Claret and Blue kit again.
The 31-year-old was on fire for Marseille last season, chalking up 10 goals and 24 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

He left West Ham acrimoniously in January 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25 million, and at the time it would have been hard to envisage a scenario where he would ever return to the London Stadium.
Following the Guardian’s claim that Payet could be set to rejoin the Hammers, France Football are reporting that the east London outfit will face stringent competition from Inter for his signature.

West Ham do have the advantage of being able to offer the 31-year-old Premier League football, and the level of competition that that entails, however.
Whether Payet would be accepted back by the Hammers faithful is another matter all together, though.
