Inter Milan have reportedly identified Jurgen Klopp as their dream successor to Simone Inzaghi, with the Italian manager currently facing pressure in his position at the club.

According to La Stampa via GIFN, the Liverpool manager is being viewed as ‘the perfect replacement’ for Inzaghi at Inter, who could soon face the chop after a mixed run of domestic form despite currently leading FC Porto 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

With Brighton & Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi also in contention to replace Inzaghi, Inter are dreaming bid for their next managerial hire, with Klopp also in contention but only if the German coach decides to leave Liverpool at the end of this season.

The Anfield side’s have struggled massively this campaign with Liverpool currently 5-2 down in their Champions League series against Real Madrid and sitting nine points off the top-four, with Klopp also out of the FA Cup having lost to Brighton last month.

Indeed, there have been murmurs that Klopp could leave Liverpool at the end of this season given just how bad this campaign has been, and for Inter, this could present the Milan side with the perfect chance to appoint the former Borussia Dortmund manager for the top job.

However, the chances of Klopp leaving Liverpool are still rather slim given the length of his current contract at the club, and whilst Inter would be an appealing move for the German, it’s hard to imagine every other major club in Europe not making an attempt to recruit the Premier League manager should he depart Anfield.

Inter Milan could miss out on appointing Klopp as manager

Klopp’s future has been one of the biggest talking points in English football in recent weeks, with the Liverpool boss seemiongly out of options when it comes to getting his current squad out of their poor run of form and into some sort of consistency. Yet if the German was to leave Anfield, Inter could still miss out on his signature.

As we know, many top managers across Europe are currently under pressure from their jobs, namely Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid and Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich, and for Klopp, these two jobs could be more appealing than a move to Milan to work for Inter.
