Arsenal fans may have been given a glimmer of hope today when Achraf Hakimi was left on the Inter Milan bench.

According to AS, Arsenal want Hakimi signed as soon as possible and Mikel Arteta would welcome his arrival this summer.

Inter would be demanding around €50million (£43million) for Hakimi, meaning Arsenal would have to pay huge money if they want him.

Today, Antonio Conte decided to bench Hakimi following some patchy form, going with two former Manchester United wing backs – Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young – instead.

With the game still 0-0, Conte threw Hakimi on with 20 minutes to play, and he made an instant impact by setting up Darmian for the winner.

The Moroccan ace played a nice give-and-go with Romelu Lukaku, using his pace and drive to get to the byline before finding Darmian.

Inter fans took to Twitter to rave about the Arsenal target, suggesting that he is a ‘magician’ and the best right wing back in the world.

Others called him a ‘baller’ and ‘absolutely priceless’, whilst feeling that the rest did him good after some poor recent showings.
