Inter Miami’s Rodolfo Pizarro is reportedly wanted by Greek champions AEK Athens, with the midfielder recently snubbing a move to the LA Galaxy.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Mexican midfielder is attracting interest from the title-winning side after Pizarro’s proposed move to California amounted to nothing, with a move to Europe now on the cards for the Inter Miami Designated Player.
With Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets set to be unveiled this weekend alongside Jordi Alba, Inter Miami need to work fast to get Pizarro off their books if they’re to register their three new superstar players, with the 29-year-old taking up a valuable DP spot.

As per the report, Messi is expected to take Pizarro’s spot on the salary cap, meaning that the former C.F. Monterrey star has to be moved on sooner rather than later. And a move to Greece could now be on the cards in the form of AEK.
Indeed, the Athens-based side won the Greek championship last season. And for Pizarro, the chance to play in Europe and to compete in a UEFA competition with AEK could be a very tempting proposition for the Mexican superstar.
AEK signing Pizarro could be a huge result for Inter Miami

Whilst it’s unknown if Pizarro is subject to loan or permanent interest from AEK, Inter Miami moving on the midfielder for good could be a dream scenario for the Florida franchise, who will want to be gone of the Mexican at last this summer.
There’s no denying that Pizarro is a quality player with the potential to make a name for himself in Europe. Yet Inter Miami was simply a bad fit for the midfielder, who could now become a star in Greece with AEK if a move can be arranged in the coming days.
