Serie A side Inter are reportedly determined to snap up Fabio Borini in January, so they need him to remain peripheral at Liverpool.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Fabio Borini may get a chance to impress and Inter may be worried he could be taken off the market.
Inter wanted to swoop for Borini in the summer, but the Italian side weren’t able to get a bid together because they failed to sell midfielder Fredy Guarin.
The Nerazzurri did manage to grab Southampton exile Pablo Daniel Osvaldo on loan, but they are still lacking striking options, especially with Rodrigo Palacio and Osvaldo suffering fitness issues.
However, Borini may get a chance against Newcastle United with Daniel Sturridge injured and given Mario Balotelli’s poor form, he could climb the hierarchy with a good performance.
Inter will have to hope that Borini doesn’t convince Rodgers that he is indispensable over the next two months.
