Inter are hoping to secure Chelsea marksman Fernando Torres on a season loan, but reports suggest their back-up plan is to approach Tottenham about Erik Lamela.

Lamela was sensational for Roma but has failed to settle in North London since making his club-record move partly due to injury problems.
There have been repeated rumours that Roma are trying to get Lamela back, but Inter could attempt a loan offer on a similar basis to their approach for Torres.
Inter made contact with Spurs in January regarding a loan but talks didn’t get very far. However, the pressure on Spurs to find a better solution than leaving the Argentine on the bench is growing.
