Inter Milan confirmed their interest in the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder as his World Cup participation with Belgium makes a move to China less likely.
Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello has confirmed the club’s interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele.
“There are contacts in place, but nothing definite,” Antonello was quoted as saying by CalcioMercato, as the future of the Belgian remains unresolved.
The same report continues to add that the 30-year-old is manager Luciano Spalletti’s first choice for reinforcement in midfield, but there is also interest from Chinese side Jiangsu Suning.

Spurs are allegedly holding out for £26.5million for Dembele despite his age and the fact he has now entered the final year of his current contract in North London.

The Nerazzurri were likely to be cheering Belgium on last night (July 2) as they came from two goals down to beat Japan 3-2 in their last-16 match at the 2018 World Cup.
That is because Dembele has made it clear he will not make a decision on his future until after the tournament in Russia and that could make things tricky for a move to China.
The transfer window in the Chinese Super League closes on July 13 – two days before the World Cup final – meaning the further Belgium progress the less likely it becomes that the Tottenham star will move to the Far East.
