Inter Milan CEO Piero Ausilio has opened up about his sides chances of signing one former Chelsea player.
Romelu Lukaku was arguably one of the best signings made for Inter Milan in recent seasons with the Italian giants selling the Belgian to Chelsea for £95 million before signing the forward on loan during the following season.
It now seems another former Chelsea player could be on his way to the San Siro and that is Spanish left-back Marcos Alonso, who is currently at Spanish giants Barcelona.
After a very successful spell at Chelsea, which included Premier League and Champions League titles, the left-back moved to Barcelona.

Inter Milan CEO downplays Alonso interest
The Spanish full-back has had a mixed time of things with Alejandro Balde becoming the first choice option at the Nou Camp.
This has, naturally, led to questions over the future of the wing-back and Inter Milan, who have had previous success with former Chelsea players, to be linked with a move.
Speaking to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter CEO Piero Ausilio was asked about a potential move for Alonso but it appears the Italian giants are shutting down any talk of signing the defender.
“I’ve read a lot of things and a lot of names, even those of Marcos Alonso and Gudmundsson, but as of today I feel like excluding them. Our workforce is already strong like this,” Ausilio said.
Alonso made just five La Liga appearances for Barcelona so a move away from the Nou Camp looks to be on the agenda for the 33-year-old.
Inter’s need for defensive additions should see them move for Alonso
Whether the club will make a move for Alonso is unclear but the Italian giants are in need of defensive additions.
Inter defender Tajon Buchanan will have to undergo surgery after suffering a serious fibula injury with the Canada national team, so a replacement will need to be sought after.
The signing of the former Chelsea left-back would make a lot of sense with Simone Inzaghi often deploying a very attacking system for his wing-backs and Alonso, who was once hailed the ‘best in the world’ in his position by Maurizio Sarri, certainly fits the bill.
