Reported Tottenham and Celtic target Michal Karbownik has been labelled an ‘interesting and intelligent player’ by none other than Poland legend Zbigniew Boniek, speaking to TVP Sport.
Perhaps the most exciting young Pole since a fresh-faced Robert Lewandowski exploded onto the scene, it seems only a matter of time before the 19-year-old left-back is following in the footsteps of a Bayern Munich and Bundesliga legend.
Clubs all over Europe are already queuing up to secure Karbownik’s £10 million-rated signature.
Celtic are always on the lookout for diamonds in the rough and, according to the Record, the Scottish champions want to sign a buccaneering teenager just five months after snapping up compatriot Patryk Klimala.
Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested too, so say the Mirror (26 April, page 68).
And Boniek, a generation-defining midfielder who came third in the 1982 Ballon D’Or placings before inspiring Juventus to Serie A glory, believes Poland have another top talent on their hands.
“He is a young, ambitious boy who is developing quickly,” Boniek said in quotes translated by Meczyki.

“Karbownik is an interesting and intelligent player about whom (Poland) coach Jerzy Brzęczek said that he wanted to call him to the national team.
“I think that we will have a lot of use from him, but only if he continues to work calmly.”
Karbownik is a modern, attack-minded full-back with six assists to his name this season. And, given that Leeds United have lacked a consistent and convincing option on the left-hand side all season long, a move to Elland Road would be more than welcome.
Sport claimed on Monday that Manchester City, perhaps inspired by Jack Harrison’s transformation under Marcelo Bielsa, could sign Karbownik and loan him out to Elland Road for the 2020/21 campaign.
