Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Jez Davies posted a photo of Yaya Toure with the Under-18 players at Hotspur Way.

What’s the story?

Well, the Premier League legend has been working at Tottenham recently, as he studies for his coaching badges.

To be more specific, Toure has been coaching Tottenham’s youngsters alongside Academy coaches Dean Rastrick and Chris Powell.

The Ivorian seems to be a popular figure at Hotspur Way, as Davies posted a photo on Instagram of himself and six teammates alongside Toure.

Interestingly, the picture was taken on the same day Spurs closed the first-team section of Hotspur Way, due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

One fan said that it must be ‘inspiring’ for the Academy prospects to work alongside Toure.

Another supporter suggested signing the three-time Premier League winner – he could probably still do a decent job in England’s top-flight!

It remains to be seen what Tottenham plan to do with Toure once he’s finished his coaching badges, although it seems Arsenal are willing to offer him a job.

Speaking about the 38-year-old, Mikel Arteta expressed a willingness to help Toure complete his coaching course.

The Spaniard is quoted as saying: “He has my number because we’ve spent some years together at City. He is a player I appreciate a lot so he can call me and ask me the question. He has the experience, expertise and has won a lot in the game. He can add value to other players, for sure.”

Depending on how he gets on at Hotspur Way, Spurs will need to make a decision on Toure quickly, as he’s clearly a man in demand.

If Spurs let him go to Arsenal, and he ends up contributing a lot on a full-time basis, Daniel Levy will feel as if he’s missed out on a promising coach.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Toure’s picture with the Under-18 prospects…
