Jack Pitt-Brooke has told the View From the Lane podcast that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is always spoken very highly about by sources at the club.

Gollini praised

Gollini has not really been able to show Tottenham fans exactly what he can do so far.

The Italian has been handed a handful of appearances, but those have almost entirely come in European competition to date.

Gollini was, at least, the hero for Spurs in the League Cup as they beat Wolves on penalties.

And the 26-year-old has still managed to make an impact behind the scenes, as his attitude in training has been praised by Spurs insiders.

“All of the players they have brought in are spoken of inside the club of being impressive personalities,” Pitt-Brooke revealed on today’s podcast.

“Even Gollini, who hasn’t really played that much, is meant to be a great figure around the dressing room and the training ground.

“I think a bit more hunger, energy and youth around that dressing room is what they were looking for and that’s what they have got.”

Tough task to start

Gollini’s chances of breaking into Tottenham’s team any time soon appear to be fairly slim.

Hugo Lloris has enjoyed a strong campaign so far, with his form often earning him great credit.

It seems highly unlikely that Lloris will be taken out of Tottenham’s team any time soon, so Gollini’s best hope of playing remains in European competition.

The good news for the 24-year-old is that he has barely put a foot wrong in a Spurs shirt yet, and looks a reliable option for Nuno to have in reserve.
