Arsenal picked up a first pre-season victory on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta’s side hammered Millwall 4-1 at London Colney in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
The hosts went into the game on the back of a defeat against Hibernian and a draw at Rangers last weekend.
But Arsenal produced an emphatic win against their fellow Londoners.
Calum Chambers opened the scoring in the first half but a lot of fans are talking about what happened just before the goal.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang executed a near-perfect bicycle kick following a floated Nicolas Pepe cross, but it came back off the crossbar, with Chambers then converting into an empty net.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the 32-year-old’s audacious attempt on Twitter:
Confident
The Gabon international had a fairly poor season last term by his own sky-high standards, scoring only 10 Premier League goals.
Of course, you can’t read too much into his performance against the Lions yesterday, but even attempting what he did, in a friendly or not, illustrates that this is a player not exactly short on confidence.
And a confident Aubameyang is worrisome for Premier League defenders, it has to be said.
Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign on August 13 with a trip to newly-promoted Brentford.
