Neil McCann has intimated that even a half-fit Antonio Colak must’ve been a better option than Alfredo Morelos in Rangers’ draw Celtic.

Michael Beale’s side look to have staged a brilliant comeback at Ibrox to beat the Bhoys 2-1.

This was the Rangers man’s first Old Firm as the Gers’ manager and he certainly drew a big response from his troops following a brutal first half in which Celtic led 1-0 at the break.

Goals from Ryan Kent and James Tavernier early in the second half did the damage for the hosts. bringing them to the brink of a victory, but Kyogo Furuhashi scored a late equaliser.

But Morelos, a £1 million signing in 2017 [The Times], looked off the pace for the majority of it.

Colak was left on the bench following his calf injury of recent weeks, but McCann believes that even if the striker wasn’t 100 percent, he still would’ve been more use than the Colombia international.

He told BBC Sportsound Scotland [43 mins]: “Morelos’ show has just been shocking today. He’s got no confidence, he doesn’t look at it. I’m not sure how fit [Antonio] Colak is, but he must be a better option because Morelos is showing no application at all.”

Morelos has been an excellent player for Beale since taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

At times, he has looked like the striker Rangers fans have loved for most of his five-and-a-half year spell at Ibrox.

Against Celtic though, the South American tends to struggle and this, unfortunately, was no different.
