The 25-year-old, who can operate as a central defender or as a right-back, has not played a competitive game of football since he suffered knee ligament damage against Chelsea in December.
The England international has said that he is progressing well after undergoing surgery, but he does not know when he will be fit enough to take to the pitch for the Gunners.
Skysports.com quotes Chambers as saying: “To be honest, [not putting a timeframe on my comeback] is one of the first things I said when I started the rehab.
“I don’t want to put a timescale on anything. I want to make sure it’s right, take my time on it and make sure I do it properly.
“In my head I haven’t even put a date on it, put a timescale on it, it’s just doing everything you can in the moment to get the best out of the situation. Hopefully it all just builds and progresses from there.
“I’m just trying to get through different phases and different blocks as and when I can.”
Staying positive
Goal.com recently reported that Chambers will not return to action until Christmas.
It remains to be seen if the defender’s recovery takes that long, but the Arsenal man should stay positive.
What is important for him is that he recovers well and does not rush into playing again.
It was a serious injury, and Chambers needs to be careful as he makes his recovery and should not be impatient.
