Danny Ings is determined to have an impact when he officially becomes a Liverpool player next week.
New Liverpool striker Danny Ings told Sky Sports News that he’s determined not to allow himself to become complacent, following his move to Anfield.
Liverpool have done well to snap up the England international on a deal, following the conclusion to his contract at recently relegated club Burnley.
Ings told Sky Sports that he’s looking forward to the move and feels that it can have a real positive impact on his career.
“It’s a challenge that I’m looking forward to. I’d never get complacent or anything like that. Now I’ve got the move, I’ll work even harder for the team to be the best professional that I can be,” he said.
He’s got a good chance of starting
Ings has a very good chance of starting for Liverpool over a difficult early period of the season.
Daniel Sturridge is fighting to get back to full fitness from a hip injury and it’s still a little too early to judge the futures of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert.
Rodgers will likely want to use players who will get their heads down and work hard for the cause and Ings embodies a player who is all about work ethic.
Rodgers has a big role to play
The manager has a big role to play because he needs to quickly find a way for Ings to fit into a system, which gets the best out of him and the rest of Liverpool’s players.
That means working closely with Ings and trying to understand a little bit more about the way Ings plays and his core strengths.
If Rodgers can setup the attack to suit Ings and get chances into him, he has the ability to be a consistent player for the club.
