Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after Steve Bruce commented on when Graeme Jones would be returning to Tyneside.
What’s the story?
Well, Jones was invited to be part of Gareth Southgate’s England staff ahead of EURO 2020.
The Newcastle man played his part as he helped the Three Lions reach the final, where they heartbreakingly lost to Italy on penalties.
Now, just like the players, Jones is entitled to a holiday, despite the fact Newcastle’s pre-season preparations are already underway.
For most fanbases, it wouldn’t be such a big deal for a coach to miss a few weeks of pre-season.
However, after Jones made a huge impact following his mid-season arrival from Bournemouth, it has caused a bit of panic on Tyneside.
When will Graeme Jones be back?

Bruce wasn’t very specific with the timeframe given, much to the annoyance of one fan down below.
As quoted by The Shields Gazette, the ex-Sunderland boss said: “I’ve spoken to him regularly over the past two or three weeks in particular. He’ll need a break, and rightly so. He’ll join us in two or three weeks time, refresh himself and dust himself down.”
Such was the magnitude of Jones’ impact, it was said that some Newcastle players actually want him to be manager instead of Bruce.

If that is true, then you can understand why the Newcastle fans are so desperate to have him back as soon as possible.
With no new signings yet either, Newcastle’s pre-season preparations aren’t going as well as some of their rivals.
For now, let’s see how the Newcastle fans on Twitter reacted to Bruce’s comments…
