Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is Paris Saint-Germain’s number one choice to replace Unai Emery as boss, according to French outlet RMC.

Emery is expected to be sacked at the end of the season having failed to take PSG further than the Champions League last-16 following their 5-2 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions have drawn up a shortlist of candidates, which also includes Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Enrique and Chelsea’s Antonio Conte.

Yet Pochettino is ahead of that trio in terms of how highly president Nasser Al-Khelaifi rates them and Spurs fans may be a little concerned that the Argentine could be tempted to Paris; especially after his comments in 2016.

“I’ve always said that I would be pleased to join a great club like PSG,” the 46-year-old, who played for the French giants, was quoted by Sky Sports at the time.

“Come to Paris? I hope so. It is true that it would please me. It’s part of my dreams.”

Many supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss the rumours, with their feelings ranging from hands off to a sense of inevitability.
