Antonio Conte has admitted to Sky Italia the ‘philosophy’ Tottenham Hotspur have strived to abide by in the transfer market will not return any instant successes during his tenure.
Spurs have hit a tricky patch of form in recent weeks to hand Conte his worst losing streak in 12-years. The north London natives have now lost their last three Premier League games after Wolves won 2-0 last Sunday. He had not lost three on the spin since November 2009.
Results dropping following Conte opening his tenure with an unbeaten nine-game run has Tottenham eighth in the table. They still hold three games in hand over Manchester United in fourth but are seven-points behind. Arsenal in sixth-place also hold three games in hand.

Spurs were fifth by one-point with three games in hand over West Ham United in fourth on January 19 following their last win at Leicester City. They next face leaders Manchester City on the road this Saturday, with Pep Guardiola’s side winning their last seven home games.
Conte admits Tottenham ‘philosophy’ will not return instant success
Conte is not expecting any miracles at Tottenham anytime soon, as he looks to end Spurs’ 14-year trophy drought. The Italian now admits his ideal philosophy for success does not match that of his employer’s, who prefer to buy young and develop than land instant hits.
“The vision, the philosophy of the club is this,” Conte explained. “It is inevitable that if you want to grow faster and if you want to be competitive faster, you need players with a lot of experience because then they lead to increase the experience also in your team.

“But then again, the vision of the club I understand is this [to buy young and make stars].”
Conte ended his first transfer window in charge of Tottenham by signing Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus. But the Italian does not feel either are ready-made stars and believes Spurs actually ended the winter market weaker than when it opened.
