Pep Guardiola has been speaking about Gavin Bazunu after selling the Tottenham and Everton target to Southampton back in June.

Well, the Spaniard sold the Republic of Ireland international to Southampton in a £12m deal over the summer, after the young glovesman enjoyed a superb loan spell at Portsmouth.
Bazunu is just 20 years of age, so it speaks volumes that Ralph Hasenhuttl spent a significant fee on his signature, while also immediately making him the No.1 at St Mary’s.
Speaking ahead of the Irishman’s return to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Guardiola said: “We were incredibly impressed before we loaned him, when he trained with us, we were impressed with his personality. How he kept the back four in line. So brave, he is a top goalkeeper.”
His comments come after The Athletic revealed that Tottenham and Everton both wanted to sign Bazunu.
So far this season, the Southampton No.31 has made eight Premier League appearances, conceding 13 goals.
Tottenham could force Everton into Bazunu bid
Interestingly, both Spurs and the Toffees could be involved in something of a transfer merry-go-round when it comes to goalkeepers.

If the north Londoners successfully pinch Everton’s No.1 from Goodison Park, it could force Frank Lampard into making a bid for Bazunu.
However, if the Irishman continues to look assured in the Premier League, we would expect Southampton to demand a lot more than the £12m they spent back in June.
