Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli could leave in January, according to Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go Podcast.

Alli has struggled to break into Tottenham’s team throughout the season so far, with Jose Mourinho consistently overlooking the attacking midfielder.

Spurs fought to keep Alli in the January transfer window, but Mourinho has continued to prefer other options.

And Romano has suggested that Tottenham may be more open to selling Alli in January, given his struggles to break into the team.

“Dele Alli was close to leaving for PSG,” Romano said.

“He could have also been included in the deal for Bale but Madrid didn’t want any player in the summer.

“In January or next summer something can change. He’s in a difficult period with Mourinho.”

If Tottenham are to sell Alli now then it will be rather intriguing what sort of fee clubs would be willing to pay.

In the recent past Spurs would surely have been able to sell Alli for a huge amount, but his value has fallen dramatically lately.

The 24-year-old, who was described as an incredible player by Clive Allen (TalkSPORT), has looked completely out of sorts of late, with Mourinho seemingly unable to find a way to bring the best out of him.

Alli has not even been included in a number of Tottenham’s match day squads this season, but he did post a message on Instagram recently suggesting he was prepared to fight for his place.
