Tom Huddlestone and Marlon Harewood praised Jermaine Defoe on Instagram for his ‘incredible’ achievement after he scored on his 800th career appearance during Rangers’ 4-0 thrashing of Ross County on Sunday.

The English duo played alongside Defoe during his days at Upton Park and White Hart Lane, respectively.

One thing that hasn’t changed about the eagle-eyed poacher is his ability to find the back of the net and he celebrated his landmark moment in the best way possible.

Even at the age of, 38, Huddlestone is still backing his fellow teammate to add ‘many more’ appearances and goals to his name.

These are the messages both Huddlestone and Harewood wrote on their Instagram stories to Defoe as he reached 800 not out yesterday.

Huddlestone wrote: @iamjermainedefoe many more + goals to come. 800 not out. Love that bro.

Harewood also wrote: 322 goals in 800 games and counting. Incredible achievement.”

It would be quite something for Defoe if he was able to top this season off by helping Rangers end Celtic’s recent dominance in the Premiership.

At this moment in time, it has been a breeze for Steven Gerrard’s men, but they are well aware that anything can happen in the pressure cooker city of Glasgow.

Celtic are faltering by the minute, whilst their rivals look untouchable and if things continue in this manner then Gerrard will be lifting the Premiership title in no time.
