Lewis Moore has raved about reported Celtic and Southampton target Aaron Hickey in The Scottish Sun.

The 22-year-old Heart of Midlothian winger has said that Hickey is a very good player, and has stated that speculation on the 17-year-old defender’s future does not affect him.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic, Southampton, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are interested in signing Hickey from Hearts in the summer transfer window.

The same publication has claimed of interest in the left-back from Lazio, AC Milan and Crystal Palace.

Moore told The Scottish Sun about Hickey: “Aaron has already played so many games and been linked with some of the biggest teams in the world – it’s been incredible to see.

“But it’s definitely not effecting Aaron. He’s the most laid back guy you could ever meet – he probably doesn’t even realise that he is being linked with all these teams!

“His head is in the clouds sometimes. He just goes out and plays his football – and what a player he is.

“He is just an inspiration to everyone and shows you that you can make an impact, regardless of how young you are.”

Stats

Hickey scored one goal and provided one assist in 22 Scottish Premiership games for Hearts this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The left-back also played twice in the Scottish FA Cup and six times in the Scottish League Cup for his side this campaign, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

Meanwhile, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said that there has been progress in the Hoops signing new players for next season.

The Glasgow giants will be aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.

Lennon told BBC Sport: “In terms of the recruitment processes, they’re all under way now.

“In terms of adding to the squad and talking to clubs, again, it’s sort of early days but we’ve made tentative inroads as regards that as well.”
