Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after Jamie Reuben revealed that 9,000 new jobs will now become available on Tyneside.
What’s the story?
Well, the Government have confirmed the Giant HQ move to the Newcastle Pilgrim’s Quarter, which is owned by the Reuben Brothers.
As Reuben revealed on Twitter, the move will eventually help to create 9,000 job opportunities for the people of Newcastle.
Understandably, the Toon Army loved hearing this, as it shows the new owners are going beyond the footballing side of things.
Reuben was also spotted helping out the Newcastle food bank collectors before the Brentford game.
Evidently, he, Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi don’t just care about the football club, but also the city of Newcastle itself.
It’s great to see, after Mike Ashley did the bare minimum for years.
Newcastle fans have been crying out for someone like Jamie Reuben and co.
Football fans want to see people in charge who care, not just about the football club, but the locals as well.
They don’t just want someone to spend £100m on new players every summer.
In Reuben, Staveley and Ghodoussi, it seems Newcastle now have a group who are intent on helping the entire city thrive as well as the Magpies.
It’s a welcome change from life under Ashley, who barely pumped any money into the football club let alone the city itself.
Hopefully, this is just the start for Newcastle’s new owners.
