Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to praise Ibrahima Konate following his powerful performance against Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Tuesday.
Liverpool picked up a sixth-successive Champions League victory by winning 2-1 away to AC Milan at San Siro.
Ibrahimovic was supposed to be the Italian’s most threateneing player but Konate, a £36 million signing from Leipzig this past summer, barely gave the big attacker a kick.
During 90 minutes, Ibrahimovic only managed some 31 touches and much of that is down to the Liverpool powerhouse’s performance.
It was a truly dominant display by the Frenchman who, at £36 million, is increasingly looking like a bargain by Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards.

Under Edwards, Liverpool have made a whole number of incredible bargains.
Konate was by no means cheap but, by the same token, it could look that way in a few years.
Because the player is only 22 years old right now and if he continues to develop as rapidly as he is, Konate will be worth an absolutee fortune to Liverpool.
Where was Van Dijk at the same age?
Well, the big Dutchman was up at Celtic and getting nowhere near the same level of education as Konate is getting now.
For one thing, Van Dijk wasn’t learning off one of football’s great centre-backs, but his Liverpool teammate absolutely is.
It’s just so exciting to consider what a monstrous defender he could be going forward.
