What a night for Tottenham striker Harry Kane and what a night for England supporters across the country on Saturday.

Many may have been questioning the Tottenham man during the group stages of Euro 2020, but three goals in the knockout phases and all those doubters are hiding away now.

Speaking on BBC One (03/07/21 at 22:00 pm), Alan Shearer shared that he noticed a ‘different’ Kane one minute into England’s 4-0 win against Ukraine.

The TV pundit pointed out how the Spurs academy product pinged a ball 40 yards out inside the first minute and he instantly knew he was seeing a more confident player following his goal against Germany last time out.

Shearer shared it’s ‘incredible’ how a goal against Germany can make such a difference to a player’s form and belief in front of goal.

“I wonder what all the Harry Kane doubters are sat there saying now when he looked a little sluggish during the group games,” said Shearer.

“There were a few people out there doubting him.

“But you see a different player. You see a player full of confidence and we know what that means to a forward, especially of his quality.

“It’s just incredible the difference. You can see he has a spring in his step.

“In the first minute of this game, he picked the ball up on the left-hand side and he pinged the ball 40 or 50 yards and you thought ‘here we go that will do’. Then minutes later he’s putting the ball into the back of the net. And it’s different Harry Kane.”

Two more wins needed for England and they have then remarkably ended 50+ years of hurt.

The quality of depth Gareth Southgate has to choose from is quite scary.

To think someone like Jadon Sancho only started his first game yesterday and Jack Grealish didn’t come off the bench then that says a lot as to what Southgate has at his disposal.

But a tricky semi-final against the technically efficient Denmark awaits them next Wednesday.
