Shaka Hislop has claimed that even if Liverpool were paying ‘£105 million’ for Alexis Mac Allister, then it would still be an ‘incredible signing’.
Liverpool are closing in on their first summer capture and there are suggestions that the Reds are putting ‘£35 million’ on the table for the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder.
Given that Alexis Mac Allister has just helped Roberto De Zerbi’s side secure European football for the first time in their history, added to the fact that he is a World Cup winner and this in an inflated transfer market, then it’s some coup from the club, which was echoed by Hislop, as he told ESPN.

Over the years, the Reds have showcased a great ability to secure very good deals around that ‘£30-45 million’ mark.
Well, if and when this deal for Mac Allister is announced, then he is another player they could add to their list because he is a typical Jurgen Klopp player.
That’s why former Newcastle United goalkeeper Hislop thinks it’s ‘great business’ by the Merseyside club, even if the price went over the £100 million mark.
“I think Liverpool are in desperate need of this re-tooling in that midfield,” said Hislop. “Alexis Mac Allister is an incredible signing at that price. An incredible signing at 3x that (£105m).
“I think he fits in well. Keeping in with Jurgen Klopp’s style, a player of his age, will serve that football club for a very long time.
“An incredible footballer, who has had an outstanding year. He just continues to grow in confidence. I just see his talent trending up. This is great business by Liverpool.”

Great start to the summer transfer window for Liverpool
Last summer, many Liverpool fans felt that the team needed refreshing in the middle of the park, but the powers that be at the club, including Jurgen Klopp thought otherwise.
Then, when the 22/23 Premier League season started, Klopp made a drastic U-turn in search of that midfielder, only for the last few weeks of the window to muster up a loan signing of Arthur Melo.
Well, they aren’t making such mistakes again because, before the summer transfer window can officially open, they should already have their first new midfielder through the club’s doors.
