Andy Robertson has said that Liverpool’s Bobby Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah should not be criticised for being ‘selfish’, as per his comments in a question and answer session to launch his own charity, AR26.
Firmino, Mane and Salah have shown single-mindedness at times, which has made Liverpool’s attack one of the most fearsome in world football.
Salah, in particular, has sometimes been called greedy, as he often takes the shot on, while ignoring his teammates.
But Robertson insists that none of Liverpool’s regular front three should be taking any criticism.
“These players are paid to be selfish, we need them to score goals and take risks in the final third,” Robertson said.
“I’d put Jota into that category now. When they are in front of goal we expect them to shoot and we expect them to score.
“I know there have been certain occasions when people have said Sadio could have passed, Mo could have passed, Bobby could have passed or whatever.
“But, look, these guys are paid money to score goals and make split second decisions for us. The three of them, plus Diogo, are all incredible, incredible players.”

Salah actually showed that he can be very much a soloist again at the weekend, as he was fuming after being taken off by Jurgen Klopp.
With Liverpool 1-0 up, Klopp wanted some fresh legs, but Salah was clearly unhappy with the decision.
The Egyptian’s productivity simply cannot be questioned, though, as he has been prolific ever since moving to Anfield.
The Liverpool forward has turned into one of the most dangerous players in the league, and already has eight goals in nine league games this season.
