Peter Crouch has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The former Tottenham striker and TNT Sports pundit has been impressed by how Vicario has done for Ange Postecoglou’s side so far this season.

So, what has Peter Crouch said about Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario? Let’s take a look.

Peter Crouch comments on Guglielmo Vicario

Well, Peter Crouch has been raving about Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The TNT Sports pundit has been impressed by the impact that Vicario has made at Spurs and believes that he has been a very good signing for Tottenham.

The former Spurs striker made the comments about the £17.2 million (Sky Sports) goalkeeper in the build-up to the Premier League match between Everton and Tottenham at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

Vicario could have done better for the two goals that he conceded, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Speaking after the game, Crouch noted a flaw in the game of the 27-year-old former Empoli goalkeeper.

Crouch said on TNT Sports 1 before the match (11:41 am, February 3, 2024): “Vicario, what an incredible player he has been! Great signing.

“You can see how he has fit in straightaway because he is such a good lad as well. He has just been unflappable, he is calm, he is a fantastic signing.”

The Daily Mail has quoted Crouch as saying after the game: “I think it’s almost like a chink in his armour. I think he’s been amazing since he’s been at the club, but that seems to be an issue.

“You know, he dropped it against Manchester City. I thought at Brentford at times, he had a slight issue with that.

“And again, today, he just couldn’t handle it when Harrison backed into him, for whatever reason. It wasn’t done in the second half, because I think they let them off, it was definitely an issue for him.”

My View: Keep faith in Guglielmo Vicario

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur fans should not worry about Guglielmo Vicario too much.

Yes, the goalkeeper did not have the best of matches against Everton, but he will bounce back.

Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou will have seen what Everton were doing to Vicario from corners and will learn from that for the second game.

Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 44 points from 23 matches, two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
