Jamie Langfield has raved about Rangers striker Jermain Defoe on Twitter.
The St. Mirren goalkeeping coach was impressed with the goal that Defoe scored during the 2-0 win for Rangers against Livingston at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United striker found the net in the 16th minute of the encounter when he connected with James Tavernier’s long ball and shot past Livingston goalkeeper Max Stryjek from the edge of the box.
It was the 38-year-old’s 300th club career goal and helped Steven Gerrard’s side secure a 2-0 win.
St. Mirren goalkeeping coach Langfield was following the match, and he was impressed with Defoe’s technique for his goal, while former Rangers star Graham Roberts has congratulated the 38-year-old Englishman on his achievement.

The win against Livingston at Ibrox on Sunday means that Rangers are now six points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Neil Lennon’s side do have a game in hand, but it seems that the title race this season could go down to the wire.
