Luis Suarez has reacted on Instagram to Darwin Nunez scoring the winning goal as Liverpool beat West Ham United 1-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The former Barcelona star told Darwin Nunez to enjoy the ‘incredible’ atmosphere that is generated inside Anfield and yesterday’s goal will be the ‘first of many’ for the summer signing.

That was on show last night, as Jurgen Klopp’s side, who were sitting in the bottom half of the table not so long ago, are now breathing down the necks of those in the Champions League places.

It just goes to show what a few wins can do to a team’s morale, form and confidence, with back-to-back victories and clean sheets now recorded.

Nunez, 23, was being taunted by West Ham’s away supporters yesterday that he is a poor man’s, Andy Carroll.

Well, it’s fair to say that he provided them with the perfect answer when he scored inside half an hour in typical prime Andy Carroll fashion.

Nonetheless, when Nunez expressed his delight at scoring yesterday, Suarez sent the following message to his fellow countryman.

“The first of many, goalscorer,” wrote Suarez in the comments section. “Follow along and enjoy an incredible stadium and atmosphere.”

A LEAF OUT OF SUAREZ’S BOOK

He may have only been on Merseyside for a few years, but when Suarez was in Liverpool colours, he well and truly ripped it up.

That’s when the all-action striker was at his lethal best and why his performances were probably deserving of him winning the Premier League title.

It’s a tough ask, but that’s what happens when you are in such a spotlight and playing for such a club, but if Nunez can take 20% from Suarez, then he will go places.

He has enough firepower around him, whereby the Reds, won’t be too reliant, so from that perspective, he can settle down a little bit more.
