Even Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp is well aware of Tottenham Hotspur’s latest target.
On Sunday, it was reported by The Telegraph – as covered by HITC Sport – that Spurs had put Brentford’s David Raya on their radar.
Tottenham need a long-term option to replace Hugo Lloris between the sticks.
This is someone who has a string of fine Premier League performances under his belt – including one against Liverpool.
Last year, the Bees held Klopp’s side to a 3-3 draw.
And the Liverpool boss complimented the Spanish goalkeeper’s ball-playing ability.
He said at the time, via BBC Sport: “The goalkeeper could have the shirt with number 10. He played a few incredible balls but it was the right thing to do against us today.”
This will no doubt interest Antonio Conte – not Klopp’s comments, but the fact that Raya seems comfortable with the football.
Not that the Tottenham boss will deploy him as a sweeper keeper or anything like that, but in this day and age, you need a stopper who’s just as good with his feet as he is with his hands.
And going by the Liverpool manager’s comments, well you could argue that the North Londoners would find that in the Brentford man.
