Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has congratulated Manchester City for winning the Premier League title, naming Pep Guardiola as the best manager in the world.
Liverpool’s title has once again been taken by City and while Klopp had every reason to be seething about the fact Guardiola had snatched his title, he was happy to concede that City have been brilliant
“Great achievement, congratulations, I text Pep last night and I already texted Ilkay obviously and well done. It’s been a very difficult team for the whole world and football teams as well. What they’ve achieved so far is exceptional and having won the title in the past, it’s now five in 10 years. I think it’s always like this, when you combine financial sources and football knowledge you have a good chance to create something special and this is obviously the case. City has an incredible squad and the best manager in the world, so that makes a good recipe I would say,” Klopp said.

It’s great to see this level of friendly competition, especially with Klopp texting Guardiola and Gundogan.
However, what is truly interesting Is that Klopp named Guardiola as the best manager in the world.
We’re certainly not going to disagree with that view, but we’re sure that there are a few Liverpool fans who will argue that Klopp is in fact the best.
Perhaps the German is just being modest, but there is certainly an argument to be made against Guardiola being the best gaffer on the planet.
