Heung-Min Son has labelled Dele Alli an ‘incredible’ player on his Instagram after he left Tottenham for Everton.
On deadline day, Alli’s seven-year stay at Tottenham came to an end with new Everton boss, Frank Lampard, signing him up.
In recent days, players have reacted to Alli’s departure, and on Wednesday afternoon, Son posted this emotional message to his now-former teammate.
Both Son and Alli were at the heart of the Spurs team that thrived under Mauricio Pochettino.
Whilst Son arrived as a newcomer from Germany, Alli was snapped up as a young fresh-faced teenager from MK Dons.
Both guided a Spurs side, who spent significantly less than their rivals, to Europe, title challenges and to domestic finals.
The biggest of them all was, of course, reaching the Champions League final itself, which the north London club did for the first time in their history.
The only big blot on all of this is the fact that they didn’t win a trophy together, and slowly but surely, that team that did so much is now ebbing away.
From Kieran Trippier to Jan Vertongen and now Alli, it was some team that Pochettino built, but they are no longer at Hotspur Way to the disappointment of the fans.
The likes of Harry Kane, Son, Eric Dier, to name a few, are the only few who are still there.
But the floor now belongs to Antonio Conte and he is now tasked with trying to end the club’s wait for a trophy.
