Jose Enrique has raved about Liverpool attacking player Takumi Minamino on Instagram.

The former Liverpool star was impressed with the display produced by Minamino – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – during Liverpool’s 7-2 victory over Lincoln City away from home in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening.

The 25-year-old scored twice for Jurgen Klopp’s side and looked very creative for the defending Premier League champions.

The Japan international took four shots of which two ended in goal, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 80%, took 57 touches, made two tackles, and put in one cross, according to WhoScored.

According to WhoScored, Minamino made two starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Merseyside outfit in the second half of last season.

Improving

Minamino is a very good and creative player, and it was understandable why he did not have the best of times last season.

After all, the Japan international arrived in the middle of the campaign, and then football stopped – and subsequently resumed – due to the global health crisis.

However, Liverpool fans could see the very best of the Japan international this season.
