Boubacar Kamara has claimed that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is the third best French player to have graced the Premier League, as he told Viaplay.
The Aston Villa midfielder, who is also a France international like Kante, named Thierry Henry top of the list, as well as including Manchester United great, Eric Cantona.
Signed as an unknown figure by Leicester City in 2015, Kante wasn’t a big-money purchase, nor someone that arrived with a big reputation or expectations on his head.
But within 12 months of donning the colours at the King Power Stadium, he was a legend of the club, as he helped Claudio Ranieri secure a historic, memorable and history-changing Premier League title.
That road led Kante to Stamford Bridge where, once again, he stuck his chest out and helped Chelsea secure Premier League glory again – before years later producing Man of the Match performances in the semi-final and final of the Champions League.
Kante has been an unbelievable servant to Leicester and Chelsea, as Kamara named the midfielder third on his list of all-time French players in English football.
“No-one knew him previously,” said Kamara. “He was very little known when he arrived in the Premier League. What he has done at Leicester and Chelsea is incredible. He was twice champions of England.”

There is no doubt that when Kante hangs up his boots, he will go down as one of the best midfielders to have graced English football.
Claude Makelele had that defensive role named after him, and many years later, Kante is now seeing the number six role dubbed the ‘Kante role’.
A player who can cover ground like he has rollerblades attached to his boots, the World Cup winner’s engine is non-stop and one that has provided many great moments.
When it has come to the big games, the popular player has turned up, and whilst injury problems trouble him now, Chelsea fans will be hoping he still has plenty left in his locker yet.
