Even Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta couldn’t help but praise Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela, after his brilliant goal in the North London derby yesterday, with his comments to Football London.
Tottenham may not have produced their best at the Emirates Stadium, but Lamela did show the talent in their squad.
The Argentine came off the bench to make a huge impact, as he fired Spurs in front.
Lamela found a tiny amount of space in the box, before producing a rabona shot, which nestled into the bottom corner.
It was a quite remarkable goal, which will surely rank among the best in the history of the fixture.
And Arteta said: “We started the game very strongly. Lamela scored an incredible goal and after that we had to react. Mentally it’s not easy but I love the way the team reacted.”

The Arsenal boss also added his praise for Lamela in an interview in the BBC.
“Extraordinary, pure talent and execution. To do it in a game of that stage as well, is unbelievable,” he added.
Unfortunately for Lamela and Tottenham that goal was the highlight of their day.
Lamela was sent off, as Spurs crashed to a 2-1 defeat, after a disappointing performance.
