Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media ahead of the FA Cup clash between Tottenham and Middlesbrough this evening.
Interestingly, the Italian praised the Spurs supporters for something they’ve been doing since he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in 2021.
What’s the story?
Well, Conte was keen to show his gratitude to Tottenham fans for their support, specifically when they chant his name.
As quoted by the Daily Mail, the 52-year-old said: “I want to say thanks to the fans because I think that I don’t deserve as only four months to have this, they chant for me. For me this is incredible. I have only to say thanks because they chant my name and they give me a lot of boost every time.”
The Tottenham fans deserve to be praised for their commitment.

Usually, a manager has to prove himself before they earn a chant, but the Spurs fan took to Conte like a duck to water, and have been unwavering in their support despite some difficult moments.
That speaks volumes about the backing Conte has, as not every former Chelsea manager would receive such a warm welcome from Tottenham fans.
Tottenham must be patient with Antonio Conte
The Italian has made a number of strange comments about his job at Tottenham, especially after the Burnley defeat.
It has even been said that some people at Spurs can’t see Conte staying in charge for next season (The Athletic).
However, if the former Juventus boss is happy to stay, then Daniel Levy must be patient with him.

As we saw at Inter Milan last season, Conte doesn’t need much time to win silverware.
After just one season at the San Siro, in which he laid solid foundations, Conte won Inter Milan’s first Serie A title for 11 years in his second campaign at the San Siro.
If you give him the right tools, the Italian will deliver success.
