Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to bring in further new players in the January transfer window.

Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has told the Glasgow Evening times that he is open to strengthening in every position in the January transfer window.

Warburton met with Rangers’ head of recruitment Frank McParland in midweek to discuss transfer targets.

Rangers now have a list of players who they would like to bring to Ibrox at the next opportunity.

However, Warburton admits that he does not like dealing in the January transfer window, as it can be hard to do business.

“We’ll see what we need. What we do is have options for every position,” Warburton said.

“You don’t know what’s going to happen – if a bid comes in for one of your players. You just don’t know.

“January is always harder than the summer window. No doubt about that.

“So you have to have your targets identified. Are they viable? Are they accessible?

“All these questions you have to ask. Normally the teams that are doing well don’t want to sell their players.

“The worst thing you can do is panic buy in January.”

Rangers brought in a number of new players in the summer transfer window, but many of their new additions have not had the impact at Ibrox that Warburton would have been hoping for.

Rangers have struggled upon their return to the Scottish Premiership, and they are currently in fifth place.

Rangers have won just four of their first 10 matches in the top flight, leaving them nine points behind Celtic at this early stage.

Warburton’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Kilmarnock.
