Graeme Souness has stated that Tottenham are ‘in trouble’ in the race to secure Champions League football and questioned whether Arsenal will score enough goals, as he told Super Sunday on Sky Sports.
The Sky pundit also thinks Spurs are ‘out of it’ regarding their top-four hopes after they lost three Premier League games on the bounce.
Even though Arsenal didn’t play this weekend, they had a positive few days because of the results that went in their favour.
Added with their north London rivals losing, albeit against another top-four challenger in Wolves, the likes of West Ham and Manchester United also dropped points.
Nonetheless, Souness delivered his verdict on the race for the top four, as Spurs and Arsenal fans won’t like what he has to say.
“I think it will go all the way till the end,” said Souness. “You go through those teams. Do Arsenal have enough goals?
“Spurs look to be in trouble trying to regain some confidence. Right now, you would take them out of it. Wolves are a really good team.
“Coming back to Man United, scoring goals is the hardest thing and they have so many strikers. You would think they could get that mix right. That’s what makes them dangerous.
“But they are struggling for any sort of continuity.”
The issue facing Spurs is that their defence is all over the place and even Antonio Conte is struggling to keep them defensively sound.
Whilst Spurs struggle at the back, their neighbours are one of the best in the Premier League in defence, but they are finding goals hard to come by.
All in all, it will make the soon-to-be rescheduled north London derby even more interesting.
Whilst the end result of that game won’t be the be-all or end-all for the winner, it certainly will be damaging for the team that suffers defeat.
