Darren Ambrose says Adel Taarabt told him that Liverpool’s summer signing Darwin Nunez could become ‘one of the best forwards in the world’.
The former Crystal Palace midfielder added that he is sure Nunez, who joined from Benfica, will be the ‘difference’ for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in seasons to come.
At this moment in time, whilst the 23-year-old is all-action in his style, he is proving to be very raw in front of the goal.

Although, six gaols in 17 Premier League games for a player seemingly being questioned is pretty good going.
Imagine what Nunez will produce once he gets that calmness and maturity to his game under Klopp!?
Nonetheless, at Benfica, Nunez played alongside former Premier League and Championship baller, Taarabt, and Darren Ambrose shared what the player told him about the Uruguay star, as he told Sky Sports News (01/03/23).
“We were speaking off-air about Nunez, I really like him,” said Ambrose. “I think he shows a lot of character. He’s not firing on all cylinders, but he’s not done badly.
“The fact that Erling Haaland has come in and produced what he has produced, it’s making Nunez come in and seem like he’s flopped. But he hasn’t.
“I think he gets into the positions. As soon as he stops doing that, that’s when Jurgen Klopp will start questioning him. But he’s not.
“I was speaking to his former teammate Adel Taarabt at Benfica. He says, ‘when he come into the team, the first few training sessions, everyone said, as you speak in the dressing room, this player could be one of the best forwards in the world’. He was that good.
“He seems confident. He seems like he is willing to go again if he misses. I think he could be the difference for Liverpool in the coming seasons. I am no doubt he will come good soon.”

NUNEZ WILL COOK FOR LIVERPOOL
This is a matter of patience, and with Jurgen Klopp’s record with forward players, then you should never write off Nunez because he will cook down the line.
Yes, at this moment in time, he has a rawness to his game, his first touch could let him down or he’s not composed enough in front of the goal.
But there has been a slight improvement of late, but the biggest of improvements will be showcased next season, once he has tasted one full campaign of the Premier League and he is more settled.
