Brentford Technical Director Lee Dykes has praised Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

Lee Dykes has said on The Beautiful Game Podcast that Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been in the shadows at the Reds.

The Brentford Technical Director has noted that the 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international is a good goalkeeper.

Sky Sports reported in May that Brentford have Kelleher on their radar as a potential replacement for their number one goalkeeper David Raya.

Dykes said: “Kelleher is a good goalkeeper. There is no doubt in that.

“He is a good goalkeeper. He has not played a lot of games obviously, he has been in the shadows a little bit at Liverpool.”

Should Caoimhin Kelleher leave Liverpool for Brentford?

In our view, if Caoimhin Kelleher has the chance to leave Liverpool for Brentford in the summer transfer window, then he should take it.

Yes, Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a global brand, but Alisson is the number one goalkeeper at Anfield.

That is not going to change anytime soon.

Alisson is a world-class goalkeeper and is at the top of his game at the moment.

If Raya leaves, then a space will open up at Brentford.

Dykes clearly likes Kelleher, and we believe that the 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international would flourish at the Bees.

The 24-year-old made one appearance in the Premier League, two in the Carabao Cup and one in the FA Cup for Liverpool this past season.
