Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Podcast, Jamie Redknapp has been discussing Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham.

This time 12 months ago, Kane was being booed onto the pitch after pushing for a move to Manchester City during the summer transfer window, but, it’s fair to say that a lot has changed since then.

Indeed, Antonio Conte’s arrival at Spurs has seemingly rejuvenated Kane, and now he seems to be more than happy in north London.

In fact, Kane seems so happy that Redknapp has predicted that the striker will sign a new Spurs contract within six months.

What’s been said?

Redknapp made a prediction about Kane.

“Harry Kane now, instead of last year thinking he needs to go if he needs to show any ambition. I wouldn’t be surprised in the next six months or maybe even less, he signs a new contract at that club because he looks at it and thinks that he can win there. It’s his club, the fans adore him, I can see that happening now. If you’d said that to me a year ago I’d have said no chance, but right now everything is in place for him to achieve what he wants,” Redknapp said.

Wouldn’t be the smartest idea

Kane may be more than happy at Tottenham right now, but he must remember how quickly things can change in football.

Yes, Antonio Conte has injected a new life into this side, but the Italian’s contract is up at the end of the season and he’s known for unceremoniously dumping his clubs in the past.

For all of Spurs’ good work over the past 6 months, they’ve still not won a trophy, and if something goes downhill with Conte in the near future, Kane may well be back to square one in terms of being unhappy at his club.

Kane may well sign a new contract at Spurs soon, but he may want to consider his position carefully before putting pen to paper.
