Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea will open talks today over signing Manchester City target and Brighton and Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that Chelsea are now actively pursuing a deal for City target Cucurella.

Premier League champions City will not improve their £40 million bid for the 24-year-old Spanish star which Brighton turned down.

Romano has claimed that Chelsea will now open talks with Premier League rivals Brighton and will also make an offer to Cucurella.

Chelsea or Manchester City for Marc Cucurella?

In our view, if Manchester City are not willing to pay more than £40 million for Marc Cucurella, then Chelsea could be able to sign the Spain international left-back in the summer transfer window.

After all, money talks, and if Chelsea offer what Brighton want for the defender, then the Blues will be able to sign him.

Moreover, the London club are also willing to include Levi Colwill in a deal.

That could appeal to Brighton, especially if Chelsea pay more than the £40 million that they want.

Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a global brand, and a move to Stamford Bridge would be appealing to Cucurella.
