Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United are now optimistic that they will be able to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus in the final days of the January transfer window.

The Italian journalist has claimed that there have been positive talks between Leeds and Juventus in the last few hours.

The USA international midfielder could now join Leeds on a loan deal in the January transfer window, with the Premier League club having the option to make it permanent in the summer of 2023.

Sensible

In our view, a loan deal with the option to buy is perfect for Leeds United, Juventus and Weston McKennie.

Leeds are a big club in England, but they could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Would McKennie really want to play in the second tier of English football next season?

A loan deal would suit for him.

Leeds would not have to pay a lot of money in transfer fees for the American star, and that would suit them.

As for Juventus, they would have another club pay the wages of McKennie for the next few months.

This would work out for all three parties.
