Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Arsenal and their interest in Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal look to be getting their business done early this summer. They’ve reportedly already struck a deal to sign Brazilian winger Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, and now, according to Romano, they’re about to move for Jesus.

Indeed, the journalist states that Arsenal are going to make new contact about a move for the striker in the next few days, and that they are preparing their opening bid for the 25-year-old.

What’s been said?

Romano spoke about Jesus and Arsenal.

“Discussing Brazilian players, one deal is done, Marquinhos is coming from Sao Paulo, a really interesting talent, everything is almost done, they will be signing contracts in the coming days,” Romano said.

“Another important name is Gabriel Jesus, there will be new contacts in the coming days, Arsenal are working on it, they are preparing their opening bid for Gabriel Jesus because the player wants to go, I see Jesus leaving the club this summer. There are many clubs interested because he is an important striker,” Romano said.

Making moves

Arsenal aren’t playing any games this summer by the looks of things.

In years gone by, Arsenal have been incredibly guilty of leaving their business until the last minute – Mesut Ozil was signed on deadline day, and we’re sure nobody will ever forget the day that Per Mertesacker, Mikel Arteta, Andre Santos, Park Chu-Young and Yossi Benayoun all arrived with hours of the window to go.

This time around, Arsenal are getting their business done early, the window isn’t even open and they’ve already seemingly secured Marquinhos’ signature, and it looks like Jesus could be next.
